Sonni Bone &

Betty Clark

Sonni Bone  and Betty Clark are friends who live in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.  They work together on projects ranging from volunteer community arts projects, to co-producing film productions and now co-authoring a book.
Sonni Bone comes by her writing quite naturally having served her time - a fourteen year sentence - as a newspaper feature writer, family page editor and weekly columnist for the local Penticton Herald newspaper.  In order to balance the daily grind of being a journalist, Sonni has published her own poetry, children's stories and is currently wrapping up work on a detective novel where action is set in the environs of Vancouver.
An avid gardener, especially when it comes to roses, or herbs, or for that matter, anything that looks pretty and smells good.  Sonni Bone can back up the information in The World of Roses with years of hands-on experience, underscored by the fact that she formulates a line of her own exclusive perfumes.
Betty Clark is the quietly efficient organizational strength of this co-authoring duo.  Betty's middle name could well be "harmony" when one considers the day-to-day demands of her life.  Business manager for a well known Canadian cowboy water colourist who happens to also be her husband Phil; co-ordinator of activities for the British Columbia Festival of the Arts; founder of the Penticton International Auction of Fine Arts; and president of the Okanagan Mainland Regional Arts Councils.
Somehow amongst all of this busy-ness Betty has managed to raise two sons, maintain a love for rose gardening and, of course, co-author The World of Roses.  About the only things Betty has had to abandon recently is her singing in musicals and on-stage Little Theatre work.
