David Bayer

Throughout the centuries many world wide cities have become famous for musical endeavours and achievements   Vienna   London   New York   New Orleans.  Seems unlikely that a former gold-rush area of British Columbia, a place called Cherryville would offer any musical opportunities, but it does.
Dozens of talented musicians have migrated to these lower reaches of the Monashee Mountains for the calm of it and for the benefits of nature in the raw.  These men and women live a difficult life; logging, trucking, mining by day and creating their music in every spare moment.  Music that reflects their lives and hopes, tough, but softened by the sheer beauty of the wilderness that surrounds them.
David Bayer is certainly the most versatile of them all.  Composer, lyricist, multi-instrument musician, group leader, studio owner and producer.  His studio, "Quarter Moon" is appropriately located, barely visible to passers-by, sheltered among towering coniferous trees a few yards from the burbling Shuswap River.  Dave has been instrumental (pardon the pun!) in essentially directing and producing the entire content of Kettle Valley Publishing's newest release, Bindlestiff's Skiffle.
